Nicholas Masters is a jazz pianist and educator who recently returned to Metro Detroit after fifteen years in the New York City jazz scene. An alumnus of William Paterson University with a degree in jazz piano performance, Nicholas has spent over a decade touring and performing with legendary jazz figures, including a ten-year residency with Winard Harper & Jeli Posse.

With over ten years of private teaching experience, he is passionate about creating a fun, productive, and encouraging learning environment for students of all ages. Nicholas works exceptionally well with children and young adults, focusing on building a strong musical foundation through ear training and theory while tailoring his approach to meet each student's unique goals. He is dedicated to helping his students discover their own musical voice and preserving the authentic jazz art form. When he isn't performing or teaching, he enjoys exploring the evolving music scene in Detroit.
